My Petite Prague Ratters

Hello, my name is Vera Grasso and I had my first litter of Prague Ratters on April 6th, 2010.  My husband and I live outside of the small village of Farmington in extreme southeast IA.  We are 8 miles from Missouri and about 25 miles from Illinois.  We have 78 acres in the middle of Schmik State Forest which borders our property on 3 sides.  My grandfather emigrated from a small town outside of Prague in the Czech Republic in 1903, so I am an American of Czech descent.  My grandfather often spoke of the “Old Country” and when I learned about the Prague Ratter I knew I had to have a part of my grandfather’s “Old Country”.  We got our female from South Dakota and our male came directly from the Czech Republic.  Both of our dogs are registered with the Prague Ratter Club of America and our male has a Czech pedigree and is also registered with the CMKU in the Czech Republic.  Both dogs have Czech names but those are hard to pronounce so we call them Jaylee and Jubal.  They are much loved parts of our family and are very spoiled.  If you are considering a small dog you will love the Prague Ratter as much as we do.

  The Prague Ratter is a miniature, friendly, social and very intelligent and obedient dog. When playing they are very lively and quick.  They consider most any lap to be a great resting spot and love to be held.  They have a great love of children, and will seek out a child in a crowd of people. 

While this is our first attempt at breeding Prague Ratters, in the past we have have raised and bred Beagles and Schipperkees.  We also have 2 cats, a dachshund, a three legged blue heeler/golden retriever/ Border collie mix, a husky/ wolf cross and a beagle as well as 2 horses so our love of animals will show in the puppies we breed. 

 My litter will be registered with the Prague Ratter Club of America.  The puppies will have their potty training started and will have been given their first shots and first worming so they will arrive to you healthy and happy.  It will come with shot records and will be certified healthy by our veterinarian. It will be sent to you in a rigid plastic carrier which is designed for shipping or you may come and get it if you wish.
